The Muse 2009 competitions are over! This year competition exceeded our expectations. We have received 88 applications from 23 countries and all the candidates demonstrated an extremely high level of performance. The jury of the competition has made its decision that:
The winner of the 5th International Piano Competition “The Muse” is Minjeong Jeong from Korea.
The winners of the International Music Competition “The Muse Junior” in the age category 15-17 years old are a violinist Alexandra Tirshu from Moldova and a pianist Ayman Baymuldina representing Kazakhstan and Russia.
The winners of the International Music Competition “The Muse Junior” in the age category 12-14 years old are a violinist from Uzbekistan Bobur Muhametjanov and a pianist from Armenia Davit Hovhannisyan.
We would also like to congratulate and wish the best of success to all the winners of the youngest group of “The Muse Junior” competition! They are (in alphabetical order):

We are very excited to announce that "The Muse" Competition, which has already established and earned a good name among College and Conservatory pianists, invites musicians of a younger generation this year. In September of 2009, the new contest – International Competition for Young Musicians “The Muse Junior” will be open for younger participants in categories of piano, violin, and cello. The competition is now almost over! There are only Closing Ceremony and the Winners Concert left for tonight… and a party of course. The level of the competition was very high and all the finalists deserved to win. However, competition is a competition and the prizes have to be awarded. The results are as follow:

One of the members of "The Muse" association, cellist Christophor Miroshnikov, together with the pianist and the Artistic Director of "The Muse" Natalia Miroshnikova gave a recital at the Parnassos Concert Hall in Athens. The two have already worked together many times and this time they joined on stage for the performance of original works and transcriptions for cello and piano by Chopin, Schubert, Brahms and Mussorgsky.

Russian pianist Anastasia Gorokhovtseva, who received an Honorary Diploma for her Performance on the 2nd International Piano Competition “The Muse” in Santorini last summer, was awarded the 1st prize at a chamber music competition in Saint-Petersburg in February 2007. Congratulations!

One of the prize winners of the 1st International Piano Competition “The Muse” Anna Fedorova, arrived to Greece to give a piano recital at the Parnassos Concert Hall in Athens this past Monday. The audience welcomed the Russian pianist performing works by Scarlatti, Chopin and Scriabin.

The Russian Foundation "Русский Предприниматель" (Russian Entrepreneur) has become a new partner of the 2nd International Piano Competition in Santorini! The winner of the 1st International Piano Competition in Santorini Tatiana Mitchko (Tessman) won another piano competition this year. She was awarded First Prize in the Senior Division of the Eleventh Missouri Southern International Piano Competition held April 24-29 on the campus of Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, MO.

The 3rd prize winner of the 1st International Piano Competition in Santorini Anna Fedorova was awarded with the 4th prize at the Maria Yudina International Piano Competition 2006 in Saint-Petersburg, Russia.

Cellist Christophor Miroshnikov, one of the members of “The Muse”, performed with the Tokyo Philharmonic and Nagoya Philahrmonic orchestras under baton of Maestro Vladimir Fedoseyev in Japan. The Rococo Variations by Tchaikovsky and the Schumann Cello Concerto were performed in Bunkamura Concert Hall in Tokyo and Art Theater Concert Hall in Nagoya.

The winner of the 1st International Piano Competition in Santorini Tatiana Mitchko was awarded with the 1st prize at the 55th annual Wideman Piano Competition held in Shreveport, Louisiana in the United States.

Another member of “The Muse”, painter Natalia Kostakis presented her works at the Zverev Centre of Modern Art in Moscow, Russia. The exhibition featured artist’s paintings and graphics from different periods of her career. Visitors of the exhibition could also see the portrait collection of Mrs. Kostakis’s long time friend and a colleague, painter Anatoly Zverev.
